I keep driving past here, but I'm usually in too much of a hurry to stop and nosey around (plus it seems I'm not supposed to, judging by the fencing etc)...

... the large concrete expanse in the centre, that looks like in connects via a track to a reservoir... Since the Google car has been past, it's gained some rocks and blocks behind the entrance gates, so I'm guessing it's disused. Make a brilliant Ken Block-style gymkhana...

I think that its the Elementis works (used to be known as British Chrome) the majority of that site is due for closure.Doubt very much if you'll get in there as security is very tight.

I thought the chrome bit was on Long Newton Lane just over the other side?

I thought the same as you, but Poj seems to know more.

I thought that spot was a brick yard or something.

The whole site is owned by Elementis(offices and main works are on Long Newton Lane)as far as we have been told the (Ken Block) shed is due to be demolished next year.We are currently filling in the ponds just along from the concrete area.
I worked at the brickworks there about 20 years ago and thought it was opposite to Elementis but will stand corrected by local knowledge.

No your probably right, I've only ever driven past, never really noticed what it was.

Photoshoot location you say? Hmmm...

Haha, i checked that place out the other night. I live fairly close by and have always wanted to have a look around. The two great big reservoirs are owned by the Elementis site, big fencing around it with warning sings about toxic chemical waste so i stayed clear of that. But you can get up to the building, not by car though, probably not even by a big landy.
