I'm looking to get myself booked on to training day as above.

Basically, I want to learn the limits of the car before I find them on a wet roundabout.
Lots people on VX220.org talk about Walshy days, but these are in Essex, so I was wondering if there is anything local.

Cheers.

Not aware of much of that type of thing up here...stand to be corrected though?

What about a track day at Croft or Teesside Autodrome...

or...you could save yourself a few quid just find a nice open roundabout, car park, etc...or maybe thats just being irresponsible...

You don't really want to be learning the limits of your car at Teeside Autodrome! The barriers are lovely and close!

Thanks for the replies. I've been in touch with Croft, they can offer skid pan training, not in your own car tho, and also driver training to make you fast on track, not what I want right now.

I may just have to take a trip down to Essex.

The police skid pan used to open to the public, I may try them, see if they would be interested.

They have a skid pan at Rockingham. It's a two hour drive for me but better than the 4 hour+ to essex

I went to a day on the track last year and the TVR boys were training on the skid pan, looked like fun.

AIUI it got closed to the public, after some muppet woman drove off the edge and hurt herself. Worth a call to check though.

I did a skid control course at Knockhill circuit just North of Edinburgh. Was a good session in their cars. Did some powersliding too as I was the only one on the course and we had some spare time. Book an early morning session and try to book it last minute as these sessions are sold at most discount. Good instructors too who like to talk cars especially if you have a sports car.
