Anyone know of a local engineering shop capable/willing to do a pulley swap on my Alternator, Old one alternator is U/S but new turned up without a pulley despite ordering from "reputable" TVR specialist. Pulley looks like its a press fit and 24mm Nut seems to be on with super torque setting. Perfer somewhere around Blaydon but anywhere near Newcastle would be good.

can't you just send it back for a replacement? Or maybe pop it into HHC, I know they know one as they had to mill my replacement filler cap.

There is a good engineering shop just off scotswood road next to TJ's tyres. Pass Audi on your right just after the next traffic lights you turn left (before BP) Then take the first right and then right into the units that are in the yard. Unsure on its name. National Windscreens are also next door if that helps

By modifying a socket to allow it to be gripped from the outside as I needed an Allen key in the shaft to stop it turning I managed to get the nut off (with a trolley jack handle as a breaker bar) and the pulley came off no bother after that .
Bugger is the new alternator is DOA so having to do the same and get it replaced... major pish boiler.
PS ta for the tip of eng shop, will no doubt have need to use at some point in the future.
