The plan is to do a run in Kielder last weekend of March but Tom is organising it and he has been busy lately so hasn't had time to get it sorted.
If anyone fancies having a look over The Mill at Rainton, Houghton-le-Spring to see if the neighbourhood, carpark and pub are suitable then if they are OK we can plan an evening meet there during March. I was planning to check this pub out myself but it's an 85 mile round trip for me so I'm having difficulty finding the time.

Well I took a quick look at the Mill today as I came home from work. It's a standard local pub, does the '2 meals for 6 quid' and 'live football' type stuff, so pick the wrong night and it may be full of footy fans...
The carpark is a reasonable size, but I'm not too sure about how safe it would be - footpath access from the front and rear, recycling bins and a shed at the back. There is a residential area to the rear so we might find a gagle of TVRs, Lotuses, Fiats (ahem!) etc might attract the attention of the local youths. I'd be fine to give it a go, but I'm not sure I could recommend it as a 'safe' type of place - we'd need a seat at the window to keep and eye on the cars.
Alternatives are:
Ramside Hotel (big car park, out of the way, some speedbumps up the drive but not too bad, food (carvery) till 9ish and I think you can just get a drink at the pendleton suite rather than having to have a meal - we'd need to check)
Pub Next to the Travel Inn at Broomside Park, just off the A690 towards Durham (Big carpark, away from residential area, easy to find). Pub nothing special but serves beer and food, non smoking area if that appeals. Only problem it's 2 mins walk from my house....
