Hello,

Its my first post, so hello, my name is Antony, and I drive an Audi A2 to help me save for something 'proper'!

I need to get the top end of my old Polo's engine skimmed as I'm changing the head gasket - does anybody know somewhere in Darlington or Stockton that I could take it to please? I can't make it back home to Newcastle in time to get it to the places up here.

Thanks,

Antony

There certainly used to be one up the back of Kwik Fit in Stockton, the name escapes me - no idea if it's still there, but worth a look if you're passing.

There's a place i know that do a lot of head skims. When you walk in you'll see nothing but heads!

I think the name is Preistley Precision Engineering.

It's in Newton Aycliffe, Address is 'Leaside' on the industrial estate. It's opposite Greg Littles Garage.

I'd recommend them. They know what they're doing, and they're cheap. HTH.

Bit better than my slightly cryptic one, wasn't it - "if you walk along Yarm Lane, then look for a man wearing a coat..." wink

That'll be my uncles business. They've relocated to Thornaby, i dont know the exsact address but its as you come over the bridge where the trian station is, first left. I can get you a contact number etc when im home if you would like?

I'm all sorted now, just collected my skimmed top end yesterday. £18+VAT for a skim, + £9 for the removal and re-fitting of the cam shaft! Very nice fellas too.

Thank you all for your help smile

If I had time, and more skill, I'd love to!
