Hi All,

I'm thinking of attending a Car Limits driver training day, any fellow NEPH chaps up for it to keep me company on the night and the drive down?

Si _ would this be your first Walshy day or have you been before?

There were a few guys on TOH who fancied this when we went down before Christmas but with only four people per day it was not possible to take everyone. Post up in the drive-by section and you might get some takers.

That aside, you will thoroughly enjoy yourself. If you need a good hotel [not expensive, good food] let me know as the one we all stayed in was good quality and only 15 minutes from the airfield.

Our last trip down:

Be prepared for the new tyres as it takes more out of them than a standard track day. Here's my old and new after the day:biggrin

Thanks, will post there and see what happens..

I thought tyre wear was only a few MMs, if that's the case I'll be fine as mine have plenty of wear left.

How did you find the day? worth the expence and the time needed to get there?

Si,

I'd be very tempted to do one of these, not done one before.

I'll do some research, but in the meantime let me know some dates please.

Cheers, Stephen

I've not got dates yet.. I'm fairly open to anytime but wanted to get it done before end of August. Probably looking at the middle of July.

Well worth the experience and price Si. The guy knows his stuff and the confidence you have with your car by the end of the day will increase massively. He does advanced courses as well.

Tyre wear _ I was close to needing a new set really, but I spent a lot time going sideways which is what scrubbed my tyres.

You will not be disappointed particularly as it is a whole day event. Once you have been on it keep an eye open as some of us may go for a more advanced day.

I quite fancy doing one of these days in my Leon - however it won't be for a while yet as I've just finished University so am penny pinching for the time being!

I would probably feel a bit out of place too turning up in my FWD diesel hatchback haha, but as my girlfriend lives down near Potters Bar I shouldn't really have an excuse not to go!

There are cars that Andy does not allow on these days - anyone can email him with their car to see whether it is suitable.

I went on a car limits day last year and it was brilliant.

Advice would be to have a look at the dvd before you go (if you haven't been before) as it will show you some of the techniques Andy will cover on the day. Oh, and make sure your tyres are pumped up to the max psi.

The car is much lower than the standard elise to start of with, but I don't remember seeing any sparks when I took the photo.

Under very heavy braking there, Mark's car is touching the ground. When we eventually get the video footage together, there are some nice moments of it shooting flames.

The splitter was hitting the deck. He just sold the splitter on seloc.

One of best days Ive ever had in my car was that Walshy day. Would love to do another one this year but Honda conversions and weddings (in no particular order) are taking priority money wise.

Did anything get arranged for this? Now that I have a more suitable car I am looking to do one in a month or two (funds permitting)
