hey guys,

I'm wondering if anyone knows of any cheap places around Newcastle to get 19" wheels powder coated from. I've phoned a few companies up here, but I think their prices are a bit off. They're brand new wheels, so just need a change of colour - no refurb. I've tried the "wheel specialist" and they're quoting me £120 MORE than what I paid to them 6 months ago for the same size of wheels!

I've got some good quotes up in Glasgow, coming in around £50/wheel and that's the kind of price I'm looking for. Can this be had in Newcastle?

Cheers

I can't for the life of me remember the company (though I'm sure google will) but I got some wishbones and other bits blasted and coated for buttons by a company down at Bill Quay Ind Estate near Pelaw. I just needed satin black which is probably the most run of the mill colour. When you request colours, you tend to find cost and lead times go up.

Have checked on google maps. Seems to be Industrial finishing specialists. Was a few years ago now. Took a few days but was very cheap.

ETA forgot to say, I followed you off Team Valley the other week. I was in the Smart so I don't think you'd have recognised me. So I was the idiot waving at you!

He may well do, but you'd need to organise gettings tyres on and off. Your best bet for wheels I'd say is speak to Tony at The wheel specialist in Westerhope, again mention me and he will do his best. Probably worth mentioning Land Rover rather than Stratstone

+1

I heard Romax in Stockton are very good. Seen some very flash motors parked outside getting their wheels done.

If your after somewhere cheap, and you don't mind travelling, there is a place just past Croft Circuit that are dirt cheap, and do quite a decent job:

Its called:
Phoenix Shot Blasting
www.rock-sliders.co.uk
Unit 2, Cockleberry Sawmills, Dalton on Tees, Darlington
01325 378 939

Quoted me 30 quid per 18inch wheel, or 110 for all 4. They had a load of VW chassis and wheels in when I went down

Did you mention my self? I'd of said 300 inc Vat was reasonable but the job and the choice of finishes they have are great.
