Hi, can anyone recommend an independent garage in the Northumberland / Scottish Borders area that knows old Merc's? I drive a W126 and am struggling to find anywhere locally that knows the cars well.

Thanks

Is Bishop Auckland too far south?

Yeah that's a bit too far. I actually live in the Scottish Borders.

Thanks anyway

The best I can think of is autobahn in Hexham not ideal but probably an hour down the A68 from the borders.

I would recommend Staithes, too. Phil knows everything about these cars and his prices are comedically cheap. It's a proper old garage as well, calendar with topless bird, everything filthy, tiny office, no waiting area, revolting toilet, strange man smoking a fag in the back...

There is a new place in Cramlington called Merc Solutions, also supposed to be good, but I have no personal experience.

Thanks for the replies. I have just taken the car to a new place in Glasgow. Quite far away but the guy seems to know his stuff so I'll be interested to see how he gets on.

Cheers
