Going east about 1 mile past the 50MPH speed camera. Any idea, they are grey and look like specs type camera?

Are we talking the ones just past the bridge before get to Wallsend turn off ? If so they have been there ages.

Defo ANPR i believe. Same on opposite side of road coming into town at the crosslings junction.

ANPR cameras, either some attempt to counter the terrorism threat on Tyneside, or they tell the ice cream van at Whitley Bay how many people are heading to the coast.

There are a similar set at the southern end of the Tyne Bridge, on the central island before the railway bridge.
