As said ,gents - me & missus have been summoned ( well invited ) to a family wedding up in the smell of the teees -route A1 - A168 -A19 ETC .Any hiding places for the scamerati would be welcome .Used to be that the slip roads on the A 19 WERE FAVOURITE but any other info welcome .In Teeside lingo -£60 IS A SUM better spent ( at a wedding ) on beer .

A19 is sometimes littered with BiB but not sure on times so just take it easy smile

A1 is a lot more clearer, though i've seen a few people being pulled near the new section near the M18 turn off. (Not sure on exact area but it's the new road)

A19 is getting littered with unmarked cars since they moved the traffic car headquarters next to it, so be carefull on the route from just before the tees flyover to after hartlepool, depending on how far you are heading up.

Didn't mention speed -just asking for heads up on activities -I prefer to wander into danger pre warned-wasn't so much asking about BIB areas ( as BIB tend to look at more than a blip to get you out of danger) than our friends in vans whose motto is profit before safety .

Between the A1 and Smog on the A19, I don't think there are any Typical spots they hide......

but they do sometimes hide.
Theirs a couple of bridges on that run where they do hide often, or maybes its just for me, the last turn off for Yarm if your heading south they normally hang around and another one a couple of turn offs down, also that unmarked scooby likes praying on cars on that run!

So why are you worried about losing £60? The vans in the area are more usually ANPR to catch untaxed, uninsured, unlicenced drivers. Dont have a problem with them and quite welcome what they do to remove people from the roads who should not be there.

PS, you shouldn't need to speed (sorry, blip to get you out of danger) if you read the road ahead.

Not saying you should drive at 70mph all the time, just that there is a time and place for it and those roads you mentioned (A1, A168 and A19) are not it.

So ,to paraphrase - most vans are ANPR - thank you for that .A1/168/19 are not that much different to A1(M) in quality , though must admit that A168 has improved it about 40 years ago . Can see why there's so much unmarked interest - never seen so many pillocks around -not so much reading road ahead as keeping eye on parrots sitting on rear quarter in outer lane ,who don't want to ( or are unable to read road ) .Then Saturday in Teeside - almost like racetrack day ,with courtesy thrown out of the window .
