North East Regional PHers is the most popular regional forum.

It has been a close run thing between Yorkshire and ourselves but we are now officially in the lead.

Or is it that we're all just a bunch of verbose talkative effusive longwinded wordy chatty friendly people?

Cheeky, NW stop at manchester for some reason. Manchester should be north midlands not North west

I love Cumbria. If people from NW England want to play with us, all the better. Perhaps we can plan a Cumbrian tour durning the summer.

Sounds good bob, I'd definitely do a Cumbrian Tour. An overnight one, maybe with a crazy night partying?? Yess it all sounds good. Just ask minimax about our crazy nights out in Carlisle

I still say our next run should head towards the Lake District I love the A686 (albeit when the bikers aren't out) and really do like Keswick and surrounding area. On a nice day I reckon we could get some stunning photos.

I'm even thinking of heading over there this weekend.

So if it's to be a tour of Cumbria then is ths a long day or an overnight stop. Both work for me but an overnighter will take some organising. I know some good camp sites that could cater for us.

I'm just trying to get a feel for interest in this before we launch into a new thread. I don't see it as our next event because it would need to be a Spring / Summer event.

we do trips to the lakes in a day? Would it not be possible for everyone from Middlesbourgh to travel up the A68/A66 to Alston, us travel up the A686 and meet there?

It's fair distance, but not miles (I did 160+ miles on Sunday)... Listen to me change in attitude or what? (I'm gaining confidence in the car's reliability btw).

Tenting doesn't really interest me - taking days off work is somewhat of a problem now well not a problem in the taking it off sense, more messing up summer plans.

One prob that the Lakes campsites are suffering from these days is the new limits imposed on the number of pitches thay are allowed. We used to frequent Church Stile near Wastwater; it used to be 'turn up and squeeze in'. Now it's 'book 6 months in advance and leave 100 yards between tents'.
Council twats, they spoil everything.

I'd be up for an overnighter, either camping or b&b'ing.
On the other hand, if we were to do something like this in a day it would mean a dawn start.
Or should that be a dawn raid....?

It's hard to say which is best though.
It sounds like 2 days away will pose a problem for some people, but then trying to get everyone out of bed at 5.00am will be a real bugger!

Tvrbob's right in saying not to have this as our next event.
Let the group form/grow/get to know each other a little first.

I'm definitely up for a Lakes Tour. Maybe a long weekend/bank holiday sort of thing in Summer. I have to be conservative with the old cash at the moment as I'm still trying to save for next years insurance so frequent blasts like last week will be a .

I still have a lot of friends in the Carlisle area so it would be cool. As for camping, would this be they type of camping that involves a room at a B&B?
