Hi new to the NE section,

Ive just bought a leon cupra 1.8T and by using vagcom realised i need a new coolant sensor, dont really want to take it to seat, just after a decent indy to give it the once over, replace sensor, maybe service.

Many thanks in advance

If it's the engine coolant temp sensor (common fault) then it is a pretty cheap part (new one is about £20 and a different colour and an updated part) and a very easy DIY fix. This went on the wife's B6 A4 and I changed it myself, took 20 mins a screwdriver and a pair of pliers.

If you aren't that confident to do it then I can put you in touch with an ex-vw man that can that will help you out.

Volksparts in Durham. I've been going there for years.

MB Motorsport in Hebburn are great, they did all the work on my mk2 golf gti and he recently put a new DSG gearbox in my R32, I would highly reccomend them - 0191 4894239 and ask for Michael

Look in the yellow pages. There's VW - Audi Specialist who's mobile. He'll pop round your house and sort you out. He works late too. So can be done after work.
I have a Leon 1.8T too and it wasn't boosting properly.

He came round and diagnosed the problem within 10 minutes.

Ideal.

Sorry I can't remember his name. His advert will say he covers the north east. wink

Ridiculously easy to fit - use Jorily.com to get the part, then use an online guide. smile

I second this, Michael is a really nice bloke. He does all the work on my Audi s3 and had recently done my clutch. I can't fault him. Very reasonably priced too.

I know i'm about a month too late but it's handy for future reference, i've used Prestige German Cars in South Shields to service and do the cambelt/water pump on my Audi TT, i'd recommend them.

Why's that then? I'd be interested to know too. They've god a good reputation on the TT forum from what I've read and heard.

name and shame policy here forbids me to say too much but suffice to say trading standards and small claims court were involved and I went away happy in the end
