well after my car defrosted i had a short run out from consett to blanchland area with the woman to visit her parents, looks like i was right not to go on the big run. Across the fell the road was clear of snow but had some really treacherous sheet ice patches on bits that were in the shade. Saw a cylist come a nasty cropper on one right in front of me (he was ok though and managed to laugh it off) I was quite suprised by the amount of snow left up on the tops too. I also got a few odd looks due to having the top down on the mx5!!

took a few pics to show the snow!

Bloody hell, is that the road up passed the moorcock and over towards stanhope!? Didn't realise there was still that much left up there, with it been right out in the open I would've thought todays blazing sun might've helped diperse it slightly. Just got back from a trip upto see relatives in Townfield, through blanchland and Edmundbyers, and the whole road from Carterway Heads to Townfield was fairly patchy with ice. Bet the heaters were on full blast on your trip out today!
