I am seriously contemplating moving from Poole to the NE as I really fancy a change. Northumberland coast is wonderful and have found a great property.

So what's it like around there to live? I'm aiming at a drive up in the next few weeks but thought I'd ask beforehand. Anything good/bad to be aware of...apart from the proposed wind farm a mile and a half away!

Cheers!

Its all good apart from the weather.

I'm about 15 miles from Alnwick, quite a few of my mates are from the surrounding villages such as Shilbottle/Swarland.

There's plenty to see and do, crime is almost non existent to apart from a bit of poaching.

Northumberland is great and very welcoming, you will have to accept that you will be known as an incomer for at least the next 10 years though!
I moved 35 miles and have now managed to shrug off that title.....10 years later!

Lovely area. Northumberland is beautiful. But as said above, you will be viewed as an 'out of towner'.

I can cope with that! I move around so much I wouldn't know if I was an out of towner or a local anywhere wink
