Hello N.E PhD`ers,

I`ve been away from UK the last month or so, in a warmer more sunny climate...things will change on sunday night though when I arrive back to the UK.

While I`ve been away the 997 RS has been tucked up in the garage under car cover and on trickle charge.

She has`nt been used for about 6 weeks, as the other half also refuses to drive it as it brings to much attention to her and she does`nt like the noise! women eh!

So my question...Would I be mad to think I`ll be able to give it a run out in the weather we are having or should I leave her firmly tucked away until the stty spell pass`s. Dont care what anyone says, these cars should be used regular to keep there mechanic`s working..What do you reckon?

I leave it with you

cheers

The roads are clear around Chester Stevie, it's only when you venture into cul de sacs on estates where the snow still has a bit of a hold. Should be no bother for you.
Saying that though the Griff is tucked up in the garage on the life support machine hehe

No point at all Stevie. Unless on the main roads its a waste of time.
Keep it wrapped up for better weather, I say, and if you do take it out, always remember..........Slow in, slow out. wink

Keep it in the garage not worth the risk, last thing you want is someone sliding into you, its still minus 3 outside so the ice isnt melting!

I thought the main roads would be clear, set off for work today got on the A19 and it was worse than in my street where I live couldnt believe it, had to turn round and go home!

Been refining my handbrake turn technique in the company Transit, much to the alarm of my neighbours and the staff at work as I sail past their windows, broadside... biggrin
Surprising how many supposed sports cars you can overtake in slush and fog when they're all cr*pping it, hanging onto the coat-tails of the car in front at bimble speed, leaving the outside lane clear (for a change)...

I am sat in Hexham at the minute, looking out the window at my 335i, which is supposed to be taking me to London tomorrow. It's got about 8 inches of snow on it, and the road is the same. think I'll take the train!

If you are tempted to use it, I,d make sure you spray a couple of gallons of wax-oyl under it..., seen one on a ramp recently and could,nt believe the amount of corrosion etc.., particularly under/around the engine area and suspension...., no probs on my 928 with the like !
