2 nights ago a friends brand new 59 plate Focus RS had its front seats stolen from his driveway in Gosforth. These seats are extremely rare and even Ford are struggling to get replacements for him. He is putting a substantial reward up for information that successfully leads to the return of the seats and gives him a name of the people who took them.

Any information regarding these seats is appreciated, they will be a difficult thing to sell and will stand out like a sore thumb in anything other than a Focus RS.

All information will be treated in strictest confidence.

Cheers

Paul

He's not sure. It obviously wasnt broken into but he thinks he locked it. So its either a case of someone having a jammer or someone in the house messing about with the key and opening it.

I saw this yesterday and mentioned it to a mate, his question was surely the thieves would have to have been watching to know the car was unlocked, or have been prepared.

Its a rare car in the first place and seats are not usually the kind of thing an opportunist thief would take.

Hope he gets them sorted.

IIRC the RS usually comes with auto unlock when the key is quite close (the correct name for this I cannot remember atm)... If the key was in the house somewhere near the car anyone can come up and press the unlock button on the handle of the car and get into the car.

It does seem really strange they would take the seats though, it will be a right pain in the arse to fit these to any other car (unless they have a mk2 focus, then its a straight swap)

I'll keep an eye/ear out see if any of the local lot hear anything about this.

...keyless entry. Dont know about the RS but our clio has this, and you have to be VERY close to the vehicle (within a foot or so), and you have to wave your hand over an I/R sensor on the door to unlock it, so I'd be suprised if it could be activated with the key/card in the house.

Most likely stolen to order. I remember a few years back when the golf R32 first came out, this was really common and actually happened to a work colleague.

Could be anywhere in the country now mate. Hope he gets some replacements soon
