I'm working Saturday back shift, but decided that I probably wont get near the place for chavs and damn kids if I went on the morning, so will give it a miss.

Shame.

Just got 4 tickets for Sunday pm just need a car that can carry 4 people now and 3 friends.
Mallam loves cars that's why he has em illegally towed if they run out of fuel. or are parked legally and used for advertising

Above the law AGAIN ???

Same here. You know it's going to be packed when they've set up a park and ride system...

Got tickets for Sunday afternoon - hopefully, with it been tickets only this weekend, it should keep the chav element away.

All three of them came on at half time at the Boro match today to give away tickets for the show. Cue lots of "you fat bd" being chanted at Clarkson. He took it rather well though!

turned up today, they were letting people in without tickets was ni on empty 3pm.
I invited a friend and her 8 yr old Top gear mad, car mad kid,,
he and so many others were so disappointed by The lack of any thing top gear. and not a presenter or film crew in sight poor kid was so exited then so disappointed.(I felt a right tt) as were lots of others. The visitors book had lots of rubbish, crap, disappointed ,where are the presenters, terrable show etc etc etc comments...so disappointing, a few nice pictures and sculptures,,
trading stdas should be involved, tickets and bands say :: Top gear at Mima.. Not the case

would of sooner watched the cry babies play football at the blind school..
Better off at Teesside park or majuba car park on a night..
SHOCKING hope local press and TV do a follow up with comments from the visitors book

Shame about the comments.

I am sure that all the press I saw and heard stated that the fiming was just Saturday though?

And that it was not a Top Gear 'show' as such, more an installation of motoring/car related art?

Just spoken to a friend actually, who was there yesterday, saw the filming and indeed spoke to the presenters, infact got told off by May for having his ipod earphones in!

Suppose that it may have been a bit over hyped by local media and some people expecting more?

This was a car art exhibition not Top Gear live. The TG team were there from time to time but they were secondary to the event.

I thought the EXHIBITION was very good and had some great pieces on show.

As above, this was not 'TopGear Live' but an car related art exhibition.

Guess it might have been lost on the uncultured, uneducated general public of Middlesbrough. Those when went for what is was enjoyed it.

Did you really expect the presenters to be there all the time? It does run until 29th November.

I went at 12:30 on the saturday, met James May and Jeremy Clarkson. They talked for a bit in front of the camera crew about the exhibition and cracked a few jokes for the public. Nice guys, shame more people didnt get to see/meet them!

No sign of the hamster, think he was probably to busy filming christmas advert!

Majority of the exhibition was good, smaller than expected but i have never been to the Mima gallery before!

I read about this on the Northern Echo and knew exactly what I was going to see... I knew the presenters wouldn't have been there, and knew it was a exhibition.

For the people who got in first thing in the morning, the presenters were there to open the gallery, these were first come first serve, and no need for tickets....

Any time after that you needed a ticket, we went for the 3:30 viewing, and was very impressed, I wanted to take the carbon fibre fish home with me, as well as some of the car drawings.

Seems while we were at the gallery, the Top Gear lot made an appearance at the Boro match:

Here's a link to the carbon fish: http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/22/ex-f1-mechanic-...

I loved the Piranha

Was good to see the traditional Colin Chapman drawings of older Lotus's along side the CAD drawing of the new Evora.

I thought some of the photography was amazing too, capturing some unusual elements of racing.
