Probably the same bugger that sat behind me for a few miles coming back from Croft on Saturday.

Saw a blue 53 plate tatty Ford Focus pull someone on the A19 last week.

I don't think I'd have stopped if he'd been after me.

The LED display in the rear window looked like he'd got it off Ebay.

Couldn't see if he had any more convincing blue flashers at the front.

There was a blue something-or-other hiding in a side street off Norton Road this morning, possibly something to do with the numberplate reading van outside the old Hills site rolleyes

I am going nuts trying to remember all the idosyncrasy / colour / make / model / reg details to remember !
I wouldnt bother trying to remember the reg as they change the plates all the time on unmarked cars

Where did you hear that? The wont have a load of VRMs on retainer waiting to be used, its a pointless waste of cash.

Saw a white Ford S-Max pull someone on the A19 North of Billingham Junction last week. Had blacked out rear windows and lit up like a Christmas tree when he put the blues on. Didn't get the reg number though.

They do change the plates, according to a retired Police Traffic Officer and instructor who I was speaking to very recently. He called them Ghost plates.

Funny. I know the numbers of several of the cars and they've stayed constant right through their time with Plod. Including the one i drove before they got their hands on it smile

had a black Audi A6 behind me the other day, i noticed the lights hidden in the grille so knew it was police, but then i noticed the quite sleek light unit on its roof afterwards, could catch some out, this was on the A19 too.

I've seen this a few times at North Tees Hospital when dropping the o/h off at work, it was also driving up Durham road bypass the other day and also saw it crossing Victoria bridge in stockton yesterday so it must be local to us.

The lights on the top stand out like a sore thumb but if they were removed I think it would be quite a hard spot!
