Well after two years I've waved goodbye to my Elise. Pretty upsetting to see her (and hear her!) head off down the road. Just needed to share that with people who understand!

On the plus side, I haven't lost a penny on it in two years and its gone back to its previous owner who is also a good mate of mine so I get visiting rights! I'm pleased I'm not not going to have to sort out little niggling faults or try to squeeze into it in my garage anymore, but I know when there is a lovely crisp winter's day, I'm going to miss it dearly.

Looking forward to the search for a replacement in a few weeks time and still have the MX5 to enjoy in the meantime.

ETA to add insult to injury, I also have death flu!

Sorry to hear it, at least you still have a fun motor to use in the meantime. Question is, whats next?

Yeah, the MX5 certainly cushions the blow. I love it!

In terms of what's next, well I have a house move to sort so that takes priority until at least into new year. After that I've been toying with the idea of a 996. The trouble is that when my Elise was being repaired, I was leant a Cayman S for the week and I loved it. I'd have one in a heartbeat but I suspect their values have a long way to fall so thinking early 996 instead. Just got to be patient for a little while!

Is your car all sorted now Paul?

Doh, sorry to hear you're moving on Gad-Westy, seems to be quite a few in our area who've moved away from Loti this year. Still onward and upward I guess, and you can always come back someday.

Keep us posted on what's the replacement, and look fwd to some more runs out, probably 2010 now though, crappy weather and dark nights.

The insurance company after nearly 6 weeks of pissing me about decided the car was fixable so it's going in on Wednesday for a rear quarter panel, so it should be sorted soon. After that I've just got a couple of cosmetic mods to do and it'll be virtually sorted to my satisfaction.

Hope you get the car you want... A 996 sounds like a plan smile
