Hi Guys,

After 21 years working and living in Oxfordshire we are moving back to Hartlepool and I wondered if anyone can recommend any garages that I could take my 'retirement project' to for any work that may need doing that I can't do myself? The car is a 1983 AC 3000ME (3.0L Ford Essex V6).
Would prefer a garage in Hartlepool but obviously surrounding areas would not be a problem.

Thanks
Mike

Thanks for the recommendations, would Ron Perry or Glenesk be the right guys for an 'engine out' job? There is a pretty big oil leak that looks like it will need an engine and gearbox out to sort the problem.

Both should be able to manage it, AA motors isn't bad but not the best value. Lots of the better small places have gone sadly frown

D&R Motors in Billingham, excellent place. About fifteen minutes from Hartlepool.

Thanks for that. I was up in Hartlepool at the weekend and tried 'Glenesk' but they told me that they don't do jobs like mine any more.....so I then tried Ron Payne (Baltic Street) and he told me that there are only two of them so same as Glenesk! They said to try 'AA' at Stranton but the owner was away at a course so I didn't get to speak to him.

So I've still got to try Ron Perry (A19), AA motors and now D&R Motors in Billingham.

Brought back memories going to Ron Payne, I took an E-Type to him to tune the triple SUs back in the 1970s!!

Try Car & Commercial in Lower Whitby St.
He builds/races F2 stock cars, older ford engines, owns a scimitar with ford V6.
Also Cranwell Motors, Mainsorth Terrace.
