Hi all, I've posted on various forums this planned meet and so far there are around 30 cars meeting up.

We will be meeting up at the Morrisons Car Park on the Seaburn Sea front, between Sunderland and South Shields between 1000hrs and 1100hrs, from there we will be travelling on the A690 through Sunderland City Centre and onwards to Durham. From Durham we will be heading to Hamsterley Forest

After a stop for a Tea/Coffee and the obligatory photo shoot at Hamsterley Forest, we will head to Stanhope dropping down onto the A689 then cutting across to Middleton-in-Teesdale across the Dales, joining the B6277 up to Alston, From Alston to Penrith on the A686, join the M6 at Junction 40 North bound to Junction 43 and coming back towards Newcastle on the Old Fort Road skirting Hadrians Wall and shadowing the A69. From the A1 people will be free to head off home.

I know the roads up to Penrith will be a fantastic driving opportunity with plenty of chances for photo shoots, we can stop at the services on the M6 for a quick drink and chat, then another really good drive coming back along the Old Fort Road to Newcastle, again we can stop for photo shoot opportunities if everyone wants to, there should be some good tourist spots along that way with enough car parking space to fit us all in. There will be somewhere to park up and have something to eat (McD's or similar) at the end of the trip before everyone disappears off home. Some people are looking at going to a restraunt for a couple of drinks and a full meal before heading home but this will obviously be up to you.

Should be a good day as long as the weather stays nice and very interesting on those roads if it doesnt.

Hope to see some of you there!!

People attending.

Mick, approx how many cars do you currently have turning up, I may be tempted to pop down and join you at Seaburn then over to Durham, then peel off home.

Sean.

There's currently about 35 cars going to be meeting up for the drive at Seaburn, should be a good day with plenty of time to stop and chat across the Dales.

Hope to see as many as possible there!!

May be up for it, assuming a battered, filthy old MX-5 is welcome along!

What time do you reckon you'll be at Hamsterley Forest? I may well join you lot there in a dirty MX5 if possible.

I was definite, however I thought it was next weekend, and I'm working this Saturday bangheadmad

We really need to get some more local meets going though, every other area meet up far more regularly, and we've got some of the best driving roads in the country on our doorsteps! I need to pop my new cars PH meet cherry too, and still haven't had a nosy at your car yet paul driving

Ol, hoped you would reply, shame you cant make it.

My car is a mess at the minute to be honest... the neighbour reversed into it so its got a nice bruise on the passenger side quarter panel, and it hasnt been washed for about 3 months! I have had it waxoiled, new roof, new tyres, wheel alignment, cambelt, service, refurbed the seat, new steering wheel, gearknob and handbrake gaiter, still got sideskirts and front lip spoiler to put on yet. So its a shame that this has happened.

I'd rather it got seen properly when it was back to its best, but in the meantime, doesnt stop my driving the arse off it!

Anyone else going then? Dorje, are you definitely going?

Might be a bit odd me turning up randomly on my own, but am still tempted - a top down blast over the 686 with some hot hatches sounds like a giggle!
