I am doing this on Friday, and it looks like there are still spaces left if anyone else is interested.....

May not be the best track in the world, but an open pitlane, breakfast & lunch and a cart race all in for £99 can't be bad. We aren't blessed with tracks round here so its a day out on track without having to do a 200+ mile round trip!!

http://www.thetrackdayclub.com/

I've no connection to the organisers, and haven't done the Autodrome before, but for the money, its worth a punt!

Weather forcast is dry too!

I'm thinking about it - it does seem great value for a fun day out.

What are you doing it in? They used to run trackdays there that were small cars only. Sevens and elises et al.

I'll take my Elise if i go.

Only 6 people have signed up to it?

I may come down and do some photos and see if it's busy or not. I live really close anyway.

I'm in an M3. I spoke to the course instructor there about this, and he said that car size is not an issue. They run "supercar" days there with 911's, 430's, DB9's, etc so no problem. It is a tight technical circuit, and it is using the full 'outer' circuit so car size should not be a problem.

I have not done Teeside before, so can't speak from experience, for £99 I thought it was worth a go. And as there are so few cars booked in so far, track time will not be an issue!! biggrin

I couldn't see it being an exciting circuit to drive in a full size car, only one really good straight and very little run off coupled with a relatively narrow track.

The long kart circuit is great in the twin engined karts they have there though and a fatty like me can manage to get round hardly lifting the throttle.

I work right near so I will pop down and take some pics at lunch time. Might see if I can sneak the VX on track, few laps for a few quid and all that smile

I walked the track a year ago to check the suitability for 'normal' sized cars. There's no way I'd put mine on there. On the extended section the gravel run off areas are kart sized, a normal sized car would hit the barrier every time. OK if you're going to tootle around and get in peoples way but if you're expecting to treat it like Croft you'll be very disappointed. Cars like Elise, 7esque, Atom will love it, normal cars drive around with a queue of frustrated small cars on their tail, there's nowhere to overtake.

Hmmm,

Off work tomorrow - check
Got cash in my pocket - check

I think I might go along and support this.

I have done the track before and its great in the Elise. One of my vids is on their website. Another is here and includes a spin at about 6min 10secs in: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=48g48Jf78Cc

Also spun it on the left hander before cars join the track. Never hit anything or suffered damage, but it is a small track.

I am treating tomorrow as a "day out", rather than expecting a full "track day" experience. Having done Croft, the 'Ring, Spa etc,I have no illusions as to what the track might be tomorrow!

The cart race was planned on being 10min qualifing, 15min race, which would normally be £40 on its own. Although given the numbers, the timings might get reduced!

My view is for £99, you get food & drink, track time & a cart race, all on my doorstep (nearly), and a day out with some mates. I've not done it before so thought it was worth a crack.

I don't expect I will see much more than 100mph on the straight, but being on track is all about the corners!!!

But if anyone what's to pop in and say hello (always good to meet fellow petrolheads!)......

I'll report back after tomorrow.......

Sure, Teesside isn't an Oulton Park or Donington, but size shouldn't be an issue, it's wide enoungh, that's the main thing. It should be fun!

We have only 7 firm booking at the moment but we're still going ahead. If anyone else would like to book just go to http://www.trackdays.co.uk/book/bookEventDetails.a... or, just turn up tomorrow. Any questions just call me on 07800 715450! smile

e46acs I'll see you there! smile
