Hey there,

I posted a thread a few months ago here after I found out I would be moving to Newcastle for the next 3 years (from Glasgow.) I think I've decided on living in the Quayside, but most of the apartments only come with 1 carpark space.

I'm thinking of living in the Turnbull Building on Queens Lane, but again it only comes with one carpark space (we need atleast 2.) Does anyone have any local knowledge of the area and is there other carparking nearby this building?

Cheers

Decided not to take my advice and go for the easy access to hookers option eh?

You're fairly central with that place, I think you might struggle trying to park a second car 'for free' - there are a couple of car parks near but I'm not sure if they're just for office use and not public. I think you will find that you're second car is not exactly 'just outside the front door'.

I think you might be buggered for parking around Turnbull building. We looked at a place there a while ago and seem to remember that even your single parking space may in fact be a hydraulic lift above another car and you'd need to speak to the concierge everytime you wanted to use your car. Novel, but I'm sure it would get annoying very quickly.

At the other end of the quayside there is a block where they all have single garages on the ground floor and people park in front of their own garage as well as in it effectively giving you two spaces. I'm buggered if I can remember the name of the building even though I go past it most days. If you head down Horatio Road from Walker Road and then take a left at the bottom you,ll see the ones I mean.

[shameless plug mode] Alternatively, I can offer you a lovely two bed flat in Heaton with Garden at special Pistonheads rates![/shameless plug mode]

I owned a place in the Turnbull building years ago, and all I will say is watch the service charges.

When I lived in an apartment in London, I managed to rent another parking bay from another resident, so you could try that.
