Since my last thread('..bodyshop..'), I have discovered that I now need welding doing on my other car.

Had a feeling I would do, but it had slipped to the back of my memory and nestled amongst the fluff and sawdust........

So. This question is.......do you know/can you recommend a really good welder? Someone who takes pride in the work that they do and encourages custom. Rather than the usual 'welding? bloody hate that mucky work....yeah,we can do it,it'll be ok i guess....'

Any help on this matter local peeps?

I've just got given a shed (Ford Ka tongue out) and it needs some welding doing for it to pass an MOT.

So i'm interested also!

I'm in the Middlesbrough area.

(Sorry for hijack!)

OK for Shed repairs, I have used in the past a place called Mini Magic or something like that - welded up my old Trooper (number plate SHD hehe)

I though I had his number but have lost it - Thornaby triangle where the Audi garage used to be - in fact here:

in this Murky Estate. Mini Magic or Something

For dine art Welding - No idea nuts
Thanks smilesmile

So what's the going rate for welding? I spent many an unhappy hour doing firewatch duty on old British wrecks back in the 70s as my father valiantly fought to weld floors back in such prestigious motors as Austin 1300s, Vivas, Mk. 1 Escorts and 1300 Marinas, the usual fare of his impecunious customers.
He let me loose with a gas axe when I was about 12 and I returned the favour about 30 years later when I lent him my MIG set hehe

I just TIG-ed the exhaust of my daughter's old heap back together tonight; realised I'm running low on Argon, must bum another bottle off a client at work... whistle

God, is the Mini place still there? My boss' old twin-engined drag Mini ended up there...
