North East Engine Builders

Looks like my MINI Cooper S Works might be needing an engine rebuild/replacement due to a pretty drastic rattle/knocking.

Just wondering if anyone on here has any experience of anywhere in the NE that they could recommend.

Give Falcon Engineering ( 01642 469732 ) in Middlesborough a ring. If Steve can't do it, he'll know someone who can.

I wouldn't consider rebuilding one of these engines as there are plenty of good ones for sale. The works pack only affects head, supercharger but not the bottom end. I would imaging your sounds are coming from crank or small end bearings. I would recommend Fosters Motorsport in Wallsend Newcastle, who race cooper s. Not much they don't know and they will be able to sort you out with a better more powerful engine.

Found a company called North East Engine Services based on Valley Street in Darlington. Going to pop down on my lunch break and see what they say. Has anyone had any experience or have heard of them?

I would highly recommend Ernie Hunters Motorcare, superb bunch of lads, know exactly what they are doing and know personally of some of their projects and the workmanship is second to none.

Thanks Crowley, spoken to Steve on the phone and seemed of the decent sort. They've had experience of MINI engine rebuilds too which is a positive point to me. Popping across tomorrow to checkout their place and to probably organise getting the work done.

Also said that I was recommended by someone and told him about yourself and the cars on your user profile and he seems to know who you are lol. He's happy he's had a recommendation though
