If your bored on Sunday 31st May, why don't you come along to County Hall carpark in Durham and get a FREE assessment of your driving.

Between 10-00am and 4-00pm the Durham Group of Advanced Motorist's (IAM) will be on hand to take you out for an assessed drive, of about 20 to 30 minutes in your own car.

No booking is required, just come along on the day.

Other 'Pistonhead' followers who will be there are Rebecca 'rptsport' and David 'b4dog'

P.S. if anybody comes down with something sporty ask for me,not the others.

Regards
Dave

OlberJ it will be a pleasure to see you again. Is the MR2 still work in progress ? or do you think it would scare the 'old fogeys' too much.

e46acs your such a driving god, i think we would struggle to improve you any.I hope your little girl is well, and make sure she only likes nice cars from an early age.
When she starts saying "CSL" before she starts saying "mammy" or "daddy" you know your onto a winner.

Is there anybody thinking about organising a 'hoon' in the near future,as the weather is definitely getting better???

Regards
Dave

No it's done : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=psn3DkDMe5U

It's just currently living at the parentals up in Scotland. Unfortunately i don't have room for it at the minute.

Therefor i'll be down in the SS-III instead, with crunchy 3rd gear modification now complete biggrin

As for a Hoon, yeah it'd be great to get everyone out again.

OlberJ, that exhaust you have on the Celica sounded 'mint'.Cheers that you came along and me in my 3/4 trousers didn't scare you off.

Jamz that lady at work is Rebecca(RPTsport).Next time you speak to her ask if she has broken any speed limits recently. If she says "no" then she is lying.

Dave

Was good to come down, have my driving "scrutinered" laugh and find out what the IAM & Durham group is all about.

I previously thought the "lessons" were booked like normal driving lessons and the costs about the same and then paying for test etc.

For the money we're talking about and what we'd be getting i reckon it's a bargain.

Definitely want to join up and get the most out of this i can.

Anyone else who is of the hoonage persuasion i'd recommend it. Will make our run outs safer, more fun and ultimately better. Not to mention your day to day driving.

Plus it'd be good to have more "learner drivers" in the group with me. biggrin

Talking about me again... P3..?

Talking about the IAM Durham Group - I have free places for the Teesside Autodrome on Friday 26 June...! A saving of £90. Needs to be someone under 25 who would like to join the IAM.

Anyone joining the Durham Group and passing their test this year will get a refund from us - £25 for anyone over 25 and £40 for anyone 25 or under...! So the £139 initial cost doesn't sound so bad eh? Especially if you get a free day driving at Teesside with instruction.

Let me know if anyone is interested - ASAP - as I will give the free places to another group very soon....!

PS - P3 are you going to the Treasure Hunt and Barbe on Sunday - need numbers for S.A.M.?

I would be interested in the the IAM and what ever is happening at Teesside Autodrome. I am not under 25 though (33).

I currently have some spare time on my hands while I look for more work, so could be good timing.
