Does anyone know anything about the/a Northeast Ring? Only thing I've found on it is about stickers (similar to Nurburgring ones) on a Lotus 7 Club website...

Ta in advance smile

hey chaps,

i don't know anything about it other than i ordered one of the stickers through a friend of a friend.

I think it's just a fun decal, it's basically an outline of the whole north east, (yorkshire to Northumberland, and the outline makes what looks like a track.

You obviously can't driveup the coast and along hadrians wall, then back down the pennines literally, so it's not actually a circuit.

I'll find a pic and hopefully some info if you want get one for the back of your car.

It was just something that looked good, if you think seeing beemers with 'ring stickers on the back look naff.

cheers, steve

here you go....

Yes, these decals are down to me. I'm the North East rep for the Lotus 7 Club. I designed a logo for the area which included the outline and one of the members thought it would look pretty cool and froody as a 'track'.

If anyone is interested I would be prepared to take orders. They are £4 and are available in any colour within reason. Silver and black seemed the most popular last time.

As for the practicality of driving the 'ring, I think it could be done with a little imagination.

Cheers.

I can't help but see 'Nor The A String'. biggrin Need some camel-casing! smile

I reckon that would be a longer drive than you might think, once you turn it into a drivable route.

Long drives don't really worry us NE7ers, we've just come back from 1000 miles in Scotland last weekend. A 400+ mile circumnavigation of the NE boundary wouldn't be problematic.

718 miles of hoonage and a 300 mile round trip to get to the parents for me this weekend.

Would be up for a middle earth NE run.

of course i don't actually drive the XJR, it's always broken!;)

I really meant 320d's and the like. (shall I keep digging until a 320d owner arrives?) Not proper one's like yours Doc. Anything with a v10 can have any sticker it wants on the back.
