If you can remove the stereo yourself, it might have the code written on it somewhere if it's ever been out before.

Sadly, I found this out for my 5er only after the previous owner had used up all his guesses...

What kind of stereo is it? I've got a programme that has the codes for most makes / models. The more info you can give me the better.

Does this work if you've ran out of guesses?

I think on our Renault one, when you run out of guesses you just have to leave it an hour or so. Renault themselves sorted our's after I foolishly disconnected the battery. Other companies may be able to offer a similar service.

Yes, as far as I know. I downloaded the programme when my mate had locked himself out of a Ford Escort radio, and he didn't have the code. It worked fine for him, and generates codes for most of the major manufacturers stereos.

hi mate i don't have the model no to hand but i can pm you when i get it if thats ok.its a 56 plate micra with the single cd h/u (not sure how many different ones there is). its my mams uncle he's getting on a bit and when i couldn't get the radio out he said he would go and buy a haynes manual (£20!) to get it out then take it to nissan who would probably take his eyes out for quite literally a couple of seconds work to decode it!
