Afternoon chaps.

Same old story, new woodburning stove on the way, need some logs for it.

Any tips as to where's best to get them from (seasoned ones) would be much appreciated.

Prefer them to be delivered but pickup is fine as long as it's not too far from the durham area.

As much as I'd love to go and fell a tree, chop it up, dry it and burn my own logs, it's for my folks' house

Cheers,
Stu

Afew years ago the barrel place just off the A1 near team vally on the left before the metro travelling north, said that I could pick up as much oak offcuts as i wanted free as they paid to skip them , they are bits of old whisky barrels smelled lovely. Not sure if the place is still there or they will still do them free but worth a pop in and ask.

Thanks guys!

Charles, most generous of you mate, sure you don't want them? They're not propping the house up or anything I trust? biggrin

We will not know till you take them away. If you fancy picking them up one night next week let me know and we'll arrange it by email. Might even supply you with a brew and a biccy.

I'll check how many are left as well _ there was a coupl of months worth last time I looked.

Zebs won't care if his house falls down.

He's moving anyway.

You know what he's like...........

Make sure you get it in writing that he will give you them for free.

Last time I went to his gaff he slapped a bloody clamp on my wheel and charged me £60 to remove it.

In fairness, he did give me a cuppa and a biccy though.
