I have tonight read with dissmay the decision of the appeal judge to uphold the original courts decision to award certain local people massive damages for 'loud, intrusive and repetitive noise'...PLUS an injunction to restrict 'noisy days' to 40 days per year.

I love Motor Racing and live close(1/2 mile) to Snetterton. However, we have a similar ongoing debate with a minority of locals. As a Parish Councillor we are stuck in the middle. The circuit is about to undergo further development (or is that 'was'?). This decision will have implications across the country. I have already warned people that it could decimate the Motor Racing industry if racing days are restricted with the potential loss of 000's of valuable jobs.

Why is it that in this country we profess to support the will of the majority and yet end up allowing minority voices to dictate overall strategy when it comes to these types of issues? As I understand it, Croft has received tremendous support throughout this difficult period. Did the courst not take account of their views?

It seems in the UK anything remotely fun isnt allowed, similar sort of problems a few years ago in the Lakes especially on windermere, i had a cracking week up there with the speed boat before the speed limits ruined the place. Lots of local business people in windermere said that the ban on speedboats had really hit the area hard.
