This used to be quite busy but not sure how much traffic it gets these days as I don't get on there much

http://www.4x4uk.org/forums/index.php

I think they still meet at the Thinford arms once a month for a night time chat/plan etc - Nice bunch of people and welcome anybody new.

I have a 90 which at the moment rarely goes out and gets muddy but when it has its been at Matfen lately. There's a few guys north of the tyne (we usually run together) which often post on there an get to Herrington and rarely langdale. We used to regularly go to Weardale but that was sold.

A few of us meet at the Cannon Inn on the a1089 every Thursday mainly for a beer and to talk ste but we have been known to chat about 4x4s.

looked on the forum and the main places listed are.

Matfen Off road - Matfen, (decent mix of terrain can get very wet
Pea Farm - Stanley,
RobinHoods Bay - Whitby, (mountain goats go here on climbing holidays)
Langdale - Scarborough ( as long as you got an Xpass)
Herrington - Sunderland

If you do go out best get your recovery points sorted first and a decent strap and shackles.

Just noticed the background pic of the forum is my mate in his old fronty stuck in water smile ran out of electricity hehe
