Annoying day today - had a run up the A69 around lunch time and decided to call in to The Angel at Corbridge, had a coffee and cake etc.

Upon returning to the car I noticed a big scuff and dent on the rear off-side corner of my car. Going back inside the manager kindly reviewd the CCTV for me and we identified the culprit who, after clipping my car had decided to park in the opposite corner of the car park.

Once we had tracked down the owner of the big black Merc it turned out to be a very well dressed and polite, although somewhat sheepish lady in her early to mid sixties!!

Her excuse? - "I didn't know who's car it was so I wasn't sure what to do" eek

Perhaps leave your detail on a note on my windscreen? Inform the manager of the incident so he could find out whos car it was you hit?

I might have half expected a teenager to try and get away with such a thing but should this slightly more mature, obviously quite well-to-do lady really have known better?

Anyway, details exchange a verified, now all I have to do is take time out of my life to get some estimates etc mad

My missus had a similar one last year she parked the car at the Newcastle General hospital and a consultant in his M5 decided to reverse into her Primera then go and park up further away once he saw he had hit her car . But he was seen by a police support worker and she gave her number and put it onto our lasses car . You can imagine a consultants wages and he had a cheek to Queery the price that i got to repair her car which was cheap as a mate did it for me makes your p*ss boil .

Well done to both of the above posts.

Nice to see the culprits tracked down.

I can only hope they were suitably embarrassed in front of plenty of people.

This kind of carelessness/ineptitude should carry 3 points and a fine.

Such clumsy fools should be forced to re-take their test.
There is no excuse, and it could just as easily been a child under wheel if that's the sum total of her powers of observation and driving skills.

It has happened to me soooo many times....aholes ! mad

Its clots like these which mean i cycle to work.

Still id say you were very lucky to have it on CCTV and still have the culprit in the vicinity. 9 times out of 10 there is no CCTV, no note and nobody to be seen!
