..in a garage forecourt in seaton sluice there appears to be an abandoned grey/silver MkII jag or the equivalent damiler (the 250 I think...?).

All the other cars disappeared a few months back - presumably a vistim of the credit crunch? Not really my cup of tea but its a shame to see such a car sitting outside effectively rotting away as it appears to be in reasonable condition...well, as much as you can tell from driving past, it seems to be complete at the very least.

Does anyone know the car...the circumstances...?

well, abandoned might be the wrong word...it must belong to someone...maybe its just un-loved or un-wanted.

Either way it shouldnt be sitting outside in this weather!

Yup, obviously belongs to someone. Would offer beer tokens for it if its unwanted.

Will have a drive past.

Unless its being used...? its parked in exactly the same spot when ever i drive past in the garage that i assume has been closed down...

If you drive from the roundabout at seaton sluice, past the constable, past the little shop on the left its sitting on the forecourt about 200 or 300 yards up the road on the right hand side...

someone rescue it!

It's still there.

Passed it earlier during a blast in the car before starting the NYE drinking.

Lovely car, my favorite Jag.

maybe its an abandoned getaway car used by some nostalgic post office robbers??

Cost about a fiver i think to ask the dvla who's it is etc, be worth it so you can get in touch if you really fancy making an offer on it.

Thought you had to have a genuinely good reason to find out owner info from the DVLA. Not sure they'd accept "I'd quite like to buy it". biggrin

a little white lie doesnt hurt anyone...just tell em its parked on a piece of land you have just bought and you'd like to contact the owner to request they move it...blah blah blah. Not like you have to prove your intentions or anything.

I believe that you can apply to the DVLA for the reg docs. They then contact the registered keeper. If the keeper doesn't respond in a given time frame the DVLA issue you the docs in your name.

Now this doesn't mean you own the car though! I think this is where there is a disclaimer on the v5c which says, registered keeper may not be the legal owner?

Anyway, will call past it tonight on the way home and see if it's still there.

Theres another sitting outside a unit in Haydon Bridge... white Daimler, looks a bit tatty but not too bad. I believe it is for sale by the Owner of the unit "Squeaky Clean" (Honestly !) I could make enquiries if you like or maybe you could google them and speak to them yourself... I cant imagine many beer tokens being required

K wink
