Norton Back Lane (Sadberge-Stockton) speed limit?

Took the baby beast out dow nthis road about an hour ago to see just how good the Philips +80s I've just put in are (answer - terrific). Came back out of Sadberge, partway along (can't remember exactly how far) I saw something odd, closer up I saw there were two yellow-backed, red-ringed speed limit signs, one each side (obviously).

Covered up at the moment, and no signs the other side to see how far the limit is to extend, but are we now to be subjected to another bit of numpty-neutralisation, cos some people can't work out how to pick a safe speed through bends and junctions?
