Doesnt seem to be much happening these days on NEPH, what went wrong? Or is it just that nobody can be bothered to organise anything?

Hi Paul, how are you _ seems ages since I saw the integra flying [literally] round the nort east.

You'll know that I used to organise quite a few runs, as did others in and around the North East.

I personally have not found PH as good a place to hang out as I used to, albeit that is only my personal take on things. I had a bit of a run in with the moderators as some people will remember and received negative comments when I had organised runs from new PH members who didn't understand that the runs were not PH based _ it just so happened that the North East forum was a convenient place for people to get together, communicate and enjoy light hearted banter.

Anyway, that's in the past.

As ray has indicated, a group of us have got together to set up a specialised 'prestigious and/or traditional sports car' website which has meant that we no longer have time to organise runs on PH. However, ray isn't quite right when he indicates that people can go there for 'Hoons'. We do not organise hoons any longer and as the site is dedicated to sports cars we are unable to include hot hatches and modded cars otherwise I'd have contacted you.

The demographics of PH have also changed through marketing by the new owners and that has resulted in a different feel to many forums on PH _ personally not necessarily my cup of tea, although I still post occasionaly in the Lotus forums.

I also believe from talking to various people, that with the way the roads are, including the large amount of traffic on them, that many enthusiasts are now concentrating on tracks or dedicated clubs _ tvr, lotus and other marques in and around the north east. There are regular TVR north east meets and the ferrari chaps still meet I think [used to be the wheatsheaf first Sunday of the month]. The lotus meets fell away, partly to do with there not being one specific club _ Neloc still meet first Tuesday of the month at the cricket club [older model lotus predominantly] but they are not web based.

All that and a combination of rubbish weather this year has meant its pretty quiet round here.

See you about hopefully.

Zebra

eta "the open highway" is the website Ray has mentioned and that I am involved in.

I see...

Oh well, it was nice while it lasted. I noticed you (and others) hadnt been on much, I presumed there must have been some falling out involved.

I'd argue that my car is not a hot hatch either, but I know what you mean anyway. wink

I've been on a few runs out on my own recently, but I must admit I am beginning to get a little bored of the roads around here. I guess I wont expect any thing to be organised any time soon, unless I do it, but then I doubt I'd get many takers, somehow.

Oh well, good to see your still alive, anyway.

Hi again Paul.

The falling out was only me with the mods and in the end Garlick and I exchanged emails and sorted it.

Are you still around the same places; don't seem to have seen you in ages and I used to spot you at least once a week and exchaneg a wave?

Can I suggest you get a job then instead of sponging off your wife's glittering wrestling career!

Yeah. There will be a fight alright. Mrs Bomb will go round and sort that Zebz out good and proppa.

I cannot be bothered to get a job. Why should I ??

My family allowance and 'Job seekers allowance' keep me in tabs and beer for most of the week, and when me and my mates ( from the betting shop) run a bit short of cash I just nick some from the wifes purse when she is at work.

Anyway, I like to spend a lot of time on Pistonheads so I probably wouldn't have time for a full time job.

Thats right. I like them. I usually have a 'Pot' whilst I'm lying in bed watching Jeremy Kyle, and you are probably sat in a traffic jam on the way to work.

I cannot believe your attitude! Your wife trains regularly and travels to some pretty poor places to support you. Do you not give a fig for her long term health, getting hit nightly with chairs, baseball bats etc and struggling to get into her lycra at 17 stone. I accept that wrestling is a pantomine, but she cannot keep it up forever at which point you'll have to get off your lazy arse and apply for a job in Maccy D's!

Theres nowt wrong with my attitude matey. If my missus wants to work thats her look out. She does travel a fair bit but its worth it as most of the clubs can pay cash in hand ( if you know what I mean). She doesn't like paying the good stuff back to those blokes in power down south, and we can get by with more money. Shes had plenty of practice in the ring so shes used to it.

I am better off being a house husband and looking after the kidz anyway. I wouldnt work at MacDonalds coz they don't pay much. I couldn't be bothered to do all that graft for peanuts. I'm better off being at home and you can pay for it all.

OK smarty pants.

For your information I don't play Bingo. Thats for the wife. I like Poker and have sometimes won some cash.

I have to go to bed now as I've been up most of the night with my mates, anjoying some lager from the lcal corner shop.

Enjoy your day at the office, and send me some more money. I need some tabs.

Ha.

Goodnight.

..on crystal meths most likely!

I couldn't imagine not working, apart from which I want to be able to afford running my toys. I would certainly never dream of sponging off mrs zebs.

Bomb, I know you never finished school and so haven't got any qualifications apart from grade III cse tech drawing which you told me you enjoyed _ why not become an architect.
