Young Lad (20's) Killed on the A167 Plawsworth to Durham
Discussion
Had a lady in a couple of days ago who had the lad shoot past her and a few seconds later saw him hit the tree sideways, she stopped and called the ambulance and tried to pull him out of the car but said she couldn't get him out. she was really upset as she was one of the only two people to stop. He was the son of the landlords of the baracuda in Chester-le-street, 21 yrs old

EFA. It was in the Advertiser last week. The cops were out in force along the 167 yesterday. I spotted 5 cop cars between BP garage and The Church Mouse also a camera van on the central reservation next to the pub.The missus also spotted an unmarked blue? 5 series
Ok, small world, was one of my best pals mates and as above the sone of the baracuda gaffer, silvery bronzey colour supra circa 350bhp..... apparently over took just before the bend back end out..... lights out. funeral was sunday gone. was this due to wreckless driving then must have been some speed to get it sideways from the bend to the tree.?? my pal said he wasnt going fast but how can he know he wasnt there.
condolances to the lads family and the lady who tried to help, makes me sick how many people just drive past and dont offer to help.

They should really do something with that road, one of our old nurses brothers broke both legs last year when he went off the road into the field on the left, something as simple as crash barriers on the sides of the road surely would save countless more injuries???? Was watching that new police camera programme on three this week and its unbelievable how much damage can be done at just 40mph.
My thoughts are with the family..
My earlier comments about his speed were not my feelings, was only quoting what was said to me, apologies for any offence this may have caused.
