Decent taxi firms - Teesside area?

How do. OH Is going to be needing a taxi on a semi-regular basis soon... and her stories of unroadworthy cars and lunatic drivers make my hair curl. I know it's largely down to the individual drivers, but are there any recommended firms who don't drive like their genitals are alight, and all the cars are top-notch?

Me personally would look for an owner driver as most of the big firms just have loads of different drivers, at least an owner driver would or should if he has any sense make sure his car is as faultless as possible.

I have to agree with Limey. As a 11 year hackney veteran in Stockton I'd have to say use an owner driver or a very small firm with only 2 or 3 drivers.

I'd probably have to recommend Roadrunners. Decent drivers and reasonable cars too. A lot better than the big firms.
