Anybody up here do Hang Gliding ? Im thinking of taking it up. Any info greatly welcomed

did a course up at swarland many years ago - guy ran it from his house don't know if he's still on the go but its one place to start investigating

Used to do it, ages ago did training in Wales then fair bit in the lakes. Was great fun. Paragliding seems to be more common nowerdays, the chute is more compact so easier to transport than hangliders, plus you tend to get longer flighttimes.

Crashed my hanglider, broke my wrist quite badly, gave up. smile Broken wrists are pretty common with hangliders, once done its a big risk to break the same wrist again causing complications. Paragliders just tend to break their legs/backs instead.

Don't let me put you off though jester

Theres Northumbria gliding club on top of the hill towards the back of Prudhoe on the hedly / leadgate road - nice road up there from greenside too!
