Sticky throttle (help)

Just replaced a snapped throttle cable (which was a mare) and the new cable is sticking. Any suggestions?

WD-40? Oil the cable?

it's not oil that's needed, just taken the end off the throttle and the cable is really tight, maybe there's a bend that's too tight?
