Do you know how I know...
I've just got a puncture which means my car is out of action until late Saturday when I can get it fixed.

ARSE!

I can gurantee bad weather next week. I'm going drop my hood off at F1 to be refurbed. Sure to pee it down for as long as it takes.

I've been thinking about getting a new hood recently... I wasn't aware Formula 1 did a restoration service.
What exactly are you having done and how much is it costing?

They just send it to Lotus. I spoke to Albert about it. Looks like mine is going to be about £80, which basically covers restiching, new plastic strip along front and general clean up and reproof. Rather inconvenient though!

I might have to speak either them or Lotus as mine is looking a little worse for wear. The most annoying bit is one of the tensioners (drivers side) has got a rounded alan bolt so putting tension into the roof is very much a one sided affair.

I was told about 1 week but it depends how busy the Lotus trim shop is. I'd suggest budgeting for two weeks min. I've got a shower cap so I'm not too concerned but it will mean I'll be keeping a close look on the weather.

Thankfully I have a hard top so I should be OK if I decide to go ahead.
Thanks for the info.

P.S.
Wheel is now off and car is on axle stands ready for puncture repair.

Bought one of these... Halfords Lifting Kit

Very impressed for £40

Yep, got bloody soaked at Croft.

Gorgeous in Cramlington now but just been on the phone to my mate from Alnwick and it's started raining there already,

Lets hope it stops moving down-over.
