Can anyone recommend anywhere for Helicoiling in the Teesside area?
It's an alloy sump from a Caterham with stripped threads for the sump plug. The sump is off the car.

The sump's off the car, ready to be delivered to wherever it needs to go.
Probably could do it myself, but I've never done one before, and not sure exactly what it entails. Though not a highly stressed part, the consequences of it failing could be dire.

Thanks for your offer Paulisa.
I got it done midweek at Teesside Motor Factors. They seem to have made a decent job of it, but threaded it M14x1.25, which is an odd size for a car sump. The plug they supplied stuck out too far, it's only 65mm off the ground, so didn't want anything sticking out. Found a magnetic motorbike one to match, so fitted that.

its easy to do helicoil kit will come with the required drill and tap

simply drill out......tap......screw in helicoil with tool.......knock the little tab off the bottom of the helicoil that allows its insertion.....hey presto. you will need a DOWTY washer aswell, as this tapped hole is not tapered like the OEM sump Plug
