No but it looks a decent price... so probably worth a look... just need to check the obvious stuff like chassis etc.

Good luck

Cheers,
I'm currently swatting up from every resource I can find for information on them, so far I've got 4, possibly 5 lined up but I'm not going to be able to look at them all, and this is the only local one I can find that interests me.

Should I decide on going to give it a look over would there be any NEPH'ers who know these cars better than I do willing to come along and give it a once over with me? Obviously I'll cover your petrol and buy lunch etc. Admittedly I'm a little nervous about buying one as I've not really looked into them too much before, but I'm desperate to get ahold of one.

Same colour combo as mine, which I've had for 8 months now. Price seems reasonable but ad doesn't say a lot about the car really. There are experts who will check these out for a price and that's the route I took as I am fairly clueless mechanically and I'm very happy with mine.

thanks for the feedback, where did you use for your inspection if you don't mind my asking as it's something I'd like to have done if the seller agrees to it and they're not too far away.

Stu, the other thing I did when I bought mine was I asked who had done the previous service (Hexham Horseless Carriage in my case) and before I bought the car I gave them a ring to check on the car's history. I have to say they were excellent and gave me a very accurate picture as to what they recommended to the previous owner would need to be looked at during my first year of ownership.

Not sure if it's the same car, but there's a one very similar in Bridge street motors for £12,500 - the one in the add is now sold, scratchchin Very strange.

Pop along to the North East TVRCC meeting at the Wheatsheaf next Sunday (13th). Always a load of Chimears with us and the guys are always keen to talk about their cars, the faults, the weak areas, but especially how good they are....

At the price range you're looking at there, you'll need to be careful to ensure that the cars been well looked after, at that value people will have looked at the merits of getting an experienced guy to service the car, and whilst they are actually quite simple, it does need an experienced eye to spot faults that may not be imediatly clear. Bottom line is that you need to get a car inspected, or have the comfort that it's been well serviced. As said above HHC know their TVR's better than anyone in the region, and have maintained a strong reputation, but that comes at a cost.

Buy a poor TVR and it'll put you off for life, buy a good one and you'll never want to sell it...

Hopefully see you next Sunday

Cheers!

Agreed to buy one finally, picking it up next saturday. Blue (light not dark) 430 with magnolia interior, 60k with FSH and loads of reciepts, known by a few people on here, regularly looked after by Ian at TorqueRVT. It's getting inspected by TRVT before money changes hands as well as a full years MOT and 6 months tax. Chassis etc solid, bodywork and interior clean and tidy, leather not perfect on the seats but still in good nick (full hide), sports exhaust (not sure what) and some leven bits smile

Couple of people on here know both the car and it's previous owner and suggested it would be a minter, nothing wrong with it at all and the seller has said anything that comes up in the inspection he's willing to rectify for me.

Fingers crossed it seems like a good car.

Don't think I'll be able to make the meet, but I'll definately be at the next local meet on here, and joining the TVRCC for local meets etc. Can't wait to pick it up, really looking forward to it, just got to find a set of wheels I like and some obnoxious exhausts for it now, though it has a sports exhaust of some descript I think.

Sounds great Stu

If the seats don't clean up, there's a leather furniture place down on TVTE that'll re-paint leather seats and make them look like new. Oh, and a few standard reminders for new TVR owners...:- Take care in the wet, the dashboard lights button is above your left knee, and there are some useful cubby boxes behind each seat (i didn't find those for nearly 12 months...). Get it waxoiled, and enjoy biglaugh

Cheers for the hints matey biggrin

By all accounts the interior isn't too bad, but I'd considered a retrim just so it's fresh and how I want it. Now you've mentioned these chaps I'll definately consider their services if we can't get it upto scratch.

That's them Paul thumbup.

Cost is about £125 per seat and they will sort out any rips and holes etc too. Not cheap, but much cheaper than a retrim in leather. The guy in the club (Phil Short with the Starmist Cianti Chim) has had his Magnoia seats done and they do look like new. Usually comes to the meetings so if you want a first-hand report Stu, pop along when you can.

Cheers

Paul
