Got up this morning to blue skies and saw a grand total of 10mins of sleet by 12ish.
Took that as a good omen and decided to jump in the motor and head up to Alnmouth for a mini blat and FnC run at around 12:30.
All was going well until maybe 10miles from Alnwick and the heavens quite literally opened on me - luckily I'd kept the roof on "just in case", but the snow came down thick and fast until I was literally crawling along with traffic at anything between 20 and 50. Made it to Alnwick where I joined the A1 for a manky drive back - again with stretches that were like driving on an ice rink.
Dropped into the Snowy Owl for some top nosh on the way back though so not all bad - did however forget that I've just lost 50mm off my ride height with my new dampers, and drove my front plate straight into the sodding kerb outside of the Owl. No damage done, just a s

looks like being a pretty decent day round here, snow's all melted, sun's desperately trying to make an appearance and a quick glance out the window seems to confirm the roads are nye on dry.
Still, can't wait for the summer, with a bit of luck I might get to savour some topless motoring this year. That is, in a convertible, not driving around with my moobs on display creating a mexican wave of vomiting pedestrians wherever I go.

I had a fantastic run out in the company car on saturday, so much so, I did it with GF in tow on the sunday too (although forcibly only about 85% as fast 
) started at my place in kenton went through westerhope past darras hall up the back route to stamfordham, along the military road until chollerford, up to wark, bellingham, kielder, back down to stonehaugh and along the military again to steel rigg on the wall above haydon bridge..little bit of snow over the tops but not much and was able to fully test the suspension on my new MINI ..understeers a lot, lacking in torque is the feedback btw
