I'm hoping some of you guys can explain this for me. Why is that silly boys, and some grown men for that matter, just don't like being overtaken by a girl.

Night after night on my way home from work there are boys in Saxos & Corsa as well as the ocassional man who just won't move out of the way, or if they do move over they then accelrate to try and stop me overtaking them.

Its silly and immature - so why do you do it rolleyes

I see where you're coming from - but why should it matter what I'm driving?

I think it's one of those facts of life, probably to do with testosterone driven ego... mind you it works both ways, why do women need to touch up their mascara whilst driving to work on a morning, whilst overtaking said men?

rolleyes

I have the opposite problem. It seems whenever I am driving to the correct speed limit I always seem to attract women wanting to drive a foot away from my bumper. They are usually in a people carrier of some sort. Mrs GMan didn’t believe me when I was complaining about it all the time, until we drove into Newcastle just before Christmas and it happened going there and coming back and she admitted it was true. Worst one was when I on the inside lane of the Felling Bypass, with a Punto with what looked like a 40 your school teacher driving about foot from my bumper instead of overtaking me.

I threw the brakes on, she nearly s*** herself, slowed down, then speeded up to do the same again, so I did the same again!! She then overtook me screaming and shouting through her window! I just laughed at her which made her even more annoyed! Weird woman!!!!

Mark will confirm that I cam the first to admit that most woman drivers are pretty rubbish (obviously I don't count myself as one of them tongue out ) usually adopting a totally oblivious approach to other road users.

I would agree, the number of women who drive about an inch from my bumber while driving to work is amazing. Also I notice a lot of women drivers don't seem to like to say thanks you when you let them out. I have pondered this and wonder if its a fear of not having both hands on the steering wheel

I don't think it's a gender problem, it would appear that the vast majority of people driving today have been brainwashed into the speed kills mantra. They quite happily sit at 35mph in a 40 zone that until recently was a NSL, then flash their lights and get all annoyed because you've overtaken them.

I seem to attract numpties in saxos and clios when i am sticking to the speed limits in the chim...they normally pull alongside and if there is a passenger they usually give it the 'come on' hand gesture...

Tbh I drive a Seat Toledo and got "challenged" on the A1 yesterday by a Laguna. Didn't move over at 0.65 leptons or so as I came up behind him, I moved a bit closer every time there was a chance for him to pull in, then backed off when he didn't (don't fancy becoming a sandwich between a numpty and a lorry). When he moved in he dropped the right foot up to the 1.0 lepton barrier. What a tool.
