Hi Guys,

The weather and road were great for driving today, so I thought I would just post and see where everyone has been?

I was just knocking round the doors nothing exciting, kingston park area, airport back roads, killingworth and seghill.

Hi Aston was thinking about it but ended up shopping. If theres another sleepy sunday with nice weather, drop me a line if you're around k/park, airport etc etc. I quite often go for a spin around here myself, so I'd be up for it.

Give me a few hours notice if you can, but I'm up for it, or if you want send me your mobile and I'll drop you a text when I'm next playing out.

Sean.

Unfortunately, only managed a trip in the BM down the tediously boring (and today rather blustery) A19, from Cramlington to Sunderland to pick up some new wheels for my recently acquired new chimp chariot (911).
Once I'd sqeezed the 4 19inch rims into the car, I popped into staples office supplies for a ring binder. Rock n Roll!!! I live life on the edge me!!wink

Went out with better half and travelled up A19 drove around the Washington area (viewed a house), up the A195 and across to east Boldon MILL BMW. Test drove a 123D coupe with 204bhp (2litre twin turbo) which for what it is was quite impressive!! Went for lunch just along the road in the Red Lion which was pretty good. Headed through sunderland and back down the coast via Seaham, narrowly missed being caught by Mr Plodcop and he must have heard me from a distance!!!!! Carried on through Dalton-le-dale and yes i forgot about the bloody speed ramps!!! Carried on all the way down the coast to Seaton Carew and then home.

The roads were fantastic for a January day!cooldrivingcloud9

Tried to get girlfriend duties out of the way before i went for a drive around the B6318/A68 etc However...

Got dragged to Ikea so had a hotdog to pass the time, which then proceeded to turn my insides out.
Had to pull over twice to be sick on the way home, then spent the day in bed until the entire world fell out of my arse at about 7pm, which made me better. yuck

What a wasted day.

Sorry mate, buts thats the best/funniest post I've read for years !!

That sound just like a day I would have had.

I only wish I knew what getting 'Girlfriend duties out of the way' really involves.....Maybe I've just got an active imagination.

It really was the hotdogs! I'm not used to being sick without having a hangover. I was actually missing the 'headache of death' as i was parking my guts on the side of the road...

Haha, glad my suffering amuses you!

..and girlfriend duties was definatly NOT what you are thinking about. It more involves her dragging me out of bed to walk round the shops all day while she looks at stuff she can't afford, then gets ratty with me becuase i'm bored and poisoned and want to go home.
I then tell her she could have gone on her own, then we have the same argument we have every weekend and go home.

I think i'm starting to enjoy week days more than the weekends at the moment.

The handling fely very assured and the ride was very smooth. The diesel engine was never heard whilst we were driving or sitting ticking over. The new BMW feature, which stops the engine when you stop in traffic take it out of gear and release the clutch and then restarts,is quite novel and seems to work very well although i can't see it being used too much by most drivers. The dealer are quoting figures of 58mpg(average) and 177BHP for the 120 (2 litre single turbo) and 54mpg(average) and 204BHP for the 123 (2 litre twin turbo). The torque was very good even at low down revs in 6th gear.

In general i was just very impressed with the car. If that was the size and type of car i was looking at and the budget was correct (£26K+) then i'd be having one. My better half is on her 3rd BMW and after having a few Audi's in between was most impressed and is just waiting to see the convertible when it turns up around April. She is sold on the engine, ride, size and looks so will probably be having the convertible or the coupe.

Hope this helps.
