I'm expecting the grand total of zero replies to this one, but it's worth a shot.

Any of you 'orrible lot into off roading at all in the north east or ever have been?
Just about to pick up a 4x4 for the daily hack and can't wait to get off road with it, not entirely PHesque, but fun none the less.

No idea of local clubs or even greenlanes, but shall be finding out in due course, just curious to see if anyone else is/has been into it from this neck of the woods.

Anyone?

I see he went for the camouflage effect cool

not quite sure where the sudden urge to go off road has arisen from as it's been a few years for me, but it should keep me occupied between now and my next "silly car" purchase and then some smile

Guess I'll be the NEPH support vehicle then hehe

there's an off road centre in Weardale just outside Woolsingham lefthand side heading west. Seems very popular.

That little Suzuki went anywhere I pointed it until the day it died frown

It's been a long time since I went to any club meets, but try here and ask on the forums.

Yep I have a virtually standard Diesel 90 and my mate is currently rebuilding his 88" landy. We are members of Byffs link but workinghehe There's a good crowd on there and they regularly arrange days out. They also have a pub meet at the Thinford arms. The forum has been having some server issues lately so you might find its off or on

Not sure if the quarry site at Weardale is still open I doubt it though as he was talking of moving to Scotland I think. The moorland site was sold.

There is a small 4x4 site operating near Wallridge (about 10 miles from the airport). Next open day is tomorrow. See:

http://hometown.aol.co.uk/garyhornet/

I was there a few weeks ago:

Let me know if you want to do some lanes. I know a few out west of Newcastle.

For clubs, try: http://northern-monkey-offroad.com/forum/

Would be keen to do some lanes as long as it's not going to damage the car - would be good fun i reckon.

Yes, the Kielder 4x4 Safari is good although it's not always damage free. The link is: http://www.gton.co.uk/acatalog/BOOK_Kielder_4x4_Sa...

I'm booked on the next one - 29th March.

As for lanes - I am happy to go for a mooch any weekend. Here's a pic from a few weeks ago:
