I am probably behind the times but just passed my local Tesco and Diesel is now the same price as Super Unleaded.

I always thought the government wanted us to drive diesels a few years back

have they changed tact?

Yep. A few years ago, after getting people to buy Diesels because it was "Green" they suddenly decided it was actually the Devil's Urine and slapped a huge Duty increase on it...just like they will with LPG in the not too distant future.

Not much reason for driving a DERV nowadays unless you do starship mileages. Whatever you drive, you will be shafted, without lube.

I had 3 months in a diesel and hated every minute of it. Thank god the dealer hadn't sold my "old" car. His face was a picture when i said i wanted it back hehe
