Hi Guys,

(First Post of the Year - Hope you all had a good Festive Period)

I was just wondering if any one had re-conditioned their alloys recently? My 111S wheels are in not bad condition but I have recently been thinking of getting them re-conditioned. Formula 1 Lotus recommended SEM @ Sunderland, the name comes up alot when you talk about re-conditioning alloys in the NE, but I have recently spoke to a work college of mine who seams less then impressed with some work that they carried out on one of his merc wheels.

I must admit, 99.9% of anyone that I have heard mention SEM are really impressed with their work but it only takes one bad report to get your mind working overtime. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience of the subject.

Also I have noticed on Ebay that a Blackpool firm offer a exchange scheme, I've been contemplating this too as I only have the one set of wheels and I really don't want to be without my car, a set delivered to my door, that I can change straight onto the car is very tempting @ £270, but again i'm a little cautious, as I have no idea who's wheels or what condition they were in before they where re-conditioned.

Any advice is always greatly appreciated...

Thanks in advance,

A77 smile

Heres a few older threads about SEM. Theres also a place in Stockton called Romax but i personally have no experience with either of these companies.

Another vote for Romax. Used the a couple of times and always been impressed.
SEM I wouldn't give the time of day, never mind my custom.

Never used ROMAX but will definitely try them next time.
The attitude at SEM stinks, regardless of product quality!!!

My wheels were done by Romax last year. Less choice of colours but they finished to a very high standard. You don't get the mottled affect within the laquer inside the spokes that you sometimes get with SEM.
