Just been out with my old man this weekend, and it has reawakened a childhood dream for me. Anyway I'm thinking of buying a new toy. Anyone guess what it is?

Nope, that would be too obvious.

It develops peak power at 3300 rpm. A whole 80 horsepower!

I thought I recognised the fencing in some of the pictures you posted, didn't say anything in case you were somewhere you shouldn't have been wink

Wasn't hooning of course, but had to clear the active runway as quickly as possible though!

What does your old man fly?

Yeah, I've been flying on and off for years now, both microlight and group A. Never got around to getting a license though as I've generally been with the old man, and kept finding other ways to spend my money. However, I'm now thinking of building a Jabiru like the one he flies, or a Eurostar which has a lot more room in the cockpit, which suits me a lot better.

Microlights have moved on such a long way in the last few years, The first one he had, well, you certainly new you were flying put it that way.

Believe it or not that little Thruster made it to France and the Orkneys!

Likewise, ive been meaning to do my PPL for years but the cash always seems to fall into other projects. I started gliding with the ATC when I was 17, went solo, got asked to stay on at the gliding school and eventually got my instructor rating on these....

Flew them for around 4 years at Catterick, then the school was moved to RAF Topcliffe and we converted to these...

Over the past year or so works been busy, with change of job etc so havent done a lot of flying unfortunatly.

My old man may know yours, I know its a fairly small club so its likely...

Your old men might have known mine too before he passed away - most people who have flown around the North / North East seem to at least know his name as he used to own Sunderland Flying Club till those bastards at Nissan foced him to sell up.
