Alright Lee, monthly meets sound like a good thing, I've not met anyone face to face yet so that'll be good. I work nights like so hopefully they'll be a weekend thing. I can always take a holiday like.
Me and my mates are at lemans every year, usually in my mates RV, but due to him being pushed for time next year he's flying down and hiring a car on the fri. I'll be doing that too or driving. I've still never done it in the car yet! So obviously we'll be on hand to give you a hand. My mate races an ex british touring car peugeot 306 in the 750 motorclub hot hatch championship so we're always happy to tinker with race cars! You are talking about the 24hour (proper) and not the classic lemans aren't you?
Hats off to you buying that tvr, I thought I was No1 impulse buyer after buying a 911 I went to look at on the spur of the moment. Went to view it simply to knock it off my list of possibles you understand. But at least I waited a few days to collect it!!
Nice one!!

We usually meet up every now and then for a pub meet, I'd be a bit reluctant to do something every month and especially at your own home.

It's a nice idea, but I'd keep it for the pub and in the Summer months.

Mornin' Lee, hope you haven't reviewed your plans due to my post, I feel a bit awkward now. I replied mainly to let you know I'm at lemans anyway if you need help and that, yes some meets are a good idea, but, byff has cleared up the fact that they already happen. I think most people, me included wouldn't dream of turning up at someones house they'd either not met, or met only a couple of times. Was a nice idea though!
I can't wait to meet people so me and yourselves aren't technically dealing with strangers!smile Like I say, I feel a bit awkward after thatgetmecoat

Just for the record the meets are best kept irregular. I used to be in the RS owners club many moons ago and what started to happen was if people couldn't make the monthly meet (every month on the same night) it was viewed that they couldn't be bothered, even if they were simply busy that day! so they were put at the bottom of the list priority wise for runs out, etc. Not a good way to go. Keep the dates casual. Thats only my view, cheers lads.smile

What is - chez laidler?

In case this is of interested I used to be the Area Organinser for the Lotus 7 Club and am also involved with the ne7ers.

We meet on the last Wednesday of the month at the Church Mouse, Chester Moor (apparently so does the MX5 club). Its a canny place but there is also an other pub 100 yds up from the Mouse which is also good (I think the Capri club meet there)

More info - http://www.ne7club.co.uk/

a private residence.

All sounds a bit 'marque' focused. PH is open to all forms of petrolhead though I do personally draw the line well before max power

Nice save there! However it was far from 'maximum power' on the way back from Preston Hall Garage on Wednesday night. While 'making progress' on the A174 the turbo outlet pipe came off, back to driving a Cooper!

I was thinking more of a place to meet rather that to joining in on an other car group

I ran monthly NEPH pub meets for many years but people lost interest eventually so they were deleted from the calendar after the April '07 meet.

There are plans for this type of thing already in place for next year so I would suggest we don't start something else that will inevitably conflict with those plans.
